Donate blood and help celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month

South Texas Blood & Tissue and The Gonzaba Foundation are partnering during National Hispanic Heritage Month for South Texas Blood & Tissue’s Double Your Impact initiative to help fund music and dance classes for young students and seniors through the Guadalupe Cultural Arts, a south Texas cultural treasure providing multidisciplinary arts and culture to San Antonio and beyond, located in the heart of San Antonio’s Westside.

Blood donors can give the points they earn for their blood donation to the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, making double the impact for our community. Additionally, the Gonzaba Foundation has committed to matching the funds contributed.

“Our Double Your Impact initiative is a way for us to replenish our blood supply while supporting the community we serve,” said Jay Podjenski, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Community Development, South Texas Blood & Tissue. “The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center was a natural fit to partner with during National Hispanic Heritage Month.”

Fernanda Cardenas, Executive Director, The Gonzaba Foundation commented, “The Gonzaba Foundation is honored to be a partner with the South Texas Blood & Tissue and The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center for the Double Your Impact initiative. We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month than to collaborate with two organizations that continue to support our senior population and enrich our community.”
“I am grateful to the South Texas Blood & Tissue and the Gonzaba Foundation. This initiative will help support our commitment to promoting and preserving traditional and contemporary Chicano, Latino, and Native American arts and culture through multidisciplinary programming,” said Cristina Balli, Executive Director of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.
